The Way Ahead is Hard - Matthew 16:27-28 

Was Jesus mistaken when he spoke the words in Matthew 16:37-28?

Three main possibilities.

1.        Pentecost

2.        The destruction of the second temple in 70 a.d.

a.        Can God change his mind ?

b.        Jonah 3

3.        The transfiguration

Jesus coming again!

-          Acts 1:11, Revelations 1:7  

 

Simple lessons from a majestic experience

1.        Knowing in your heart who Jesus really is. Gives us something to hold on to when times get hard

a.        Luke 9:29, Matthew 17:2

2.        We need encouragers in our lives when times get hard.

a.        Luke 9:30-31

3.        A Reason to continue on when times get hard.

a.        Thessalonians 4:13-18  

b.        Matthew 16:27

 

Peter’s folly.

-          Matthew 17:3-5; Luke 9:32-35

 

The transformation of the disciples

1.        Jesus is sufficient in all things

a.        Matthew 17:6-8 

2.        Our transformation.

a.        2 Peter 1:13-18, 2 Corinthians 3:16-18, Romans 12 :2 

 

Look to Jesus, when times get hard !
